"Mega Man 11" is a 2D platform game developed by Capcom where you take on the role of Mega Man and must fight against Dr. Wily.
With the help of Dr. Light and his Double Gear system, Mega Man dons his armor and sets out to defeat Dr. Wily, overcoming various obstacles known as stages.
Each stage has its own level of difficulty, and if it's your first time playing Mega Man 11 or other games in the franchise, you might find it a bit challenging. In this review, I will cover various aspects of Mega Man 11 and whether it's worth buying.
How are the controls and game mechanics?
The game features abilities that can be acquired by defeating each boss. You have a simple shooting system, where pressing the shoot button fires your weapon, or you can hold the shoot button to charge a shot with your standard class.
The game blends parkour with reflexes, and failing to pay attention to details can lead to your death if you fall off the map.
Is the difficulty level appropriate? Can the difficulty be adjusted?
You can choose the difficulty level at the start of the game. Essentially, what changes among the selectable difficulties are the number of lives you have (to avoid restarting the stage) and the damage you take from enemies.
I believe that for somewhat experienced players who have never encountered Mega Man, the normal level is sufficient.
How does the Double Gear system work? Does it add something significant to the gameplay?
Mega Man has a Double Gear system that works simply. One button activates the maximum damage mode, where for a limited time, Mega Man can enhance his shots and abilities obtained from each boss.
The other button slows everything down, which is great for parkour and jumping on unsafe platforms.
As I mentioned earlier, it is time-limited; if Mega Man doesn't deactivate the Double Gear system, it will overheat, leaving Mega Man without access to the Double Gear system for a while.
Are the levels well-designed and varied?
Each level in the game, from the first boss to the last, is represented by the characteristics of the final enemy of the stage.
For example, in Impact Man's stage, you will be in a construction-themed environment, where the enemies are also correlated, since the character's appearance resembles a drill.

Are there hidden challenges and secrets that reward exploration?
There are no hidden places that I have found in the game, but there are items that can help you in battles, such as power recharges, extra lives, and health.
To reach these items, you will often need to use Mega Man's jumping abilities or pay close attention not to miss items during parkour, as you might try to go back for an item and end up dying.
How are the graphics and visual style of the game? Are they faithful to the spirit of the classic games?
Regarding the graphics, the game has simple but very pleasant visuals, with well-designed backgrounds and creative enemies that will attack you unexpectedly at first.
Until you master the stage, you will probably die many times. As for faithfulness to the original games, I can't speak to that as I haven't played any of them.
Is the soundtrack and sound effects good and memorable?
The game's soundtrack has an animation/action style, always maintaining a happy state, so to speak, only changing when you reach the boss.
The sound effects are quite well-crafted, with enemies making sounds characteristic of their appearances.
Who are the main characters and notable enemies?
The main characters are Mega Man, Dr. Light, who helps Mega Man, Dr. Wily, the arch-enemy of Dr. Light, and the eight bosses listed below in alphabetical order:
- Acid Man
- Blast Man
- Block Man
- Bounce Man
- Fuse Man
- Impact Man
- Torch Man
- Tundra Man
Are the bosses challenging and interesting to fight?
At first, I struggled to understand how the bosses work, and as I progressed through the stages, I realized that each boss has a weakness to another boss.
For example, Tundra Man's ice ability deals a lot of damage to Torch Man, the fire boss, logically, ice cools down fire, and so on.

How long does it take to complete the game?
It took me an average of 10 hours to complete the game, considering the many times I died. If you have a bit more experience, it will take you less time than I did.
Does the game run well on all available platforms?
I only played on the computer, so I can't speak for other platforms. On the Steam version, I can affirm that the game ran well on my computer. Despite being a powerful computer, the game requires little computational power.
Are there technical issues like bugs or glitches?
During my gameplay, as far as I remember, I did not encounter any bugs that made me lose the stage or restart.
Is the game worth the asking price?
The game is currently priced at $29.99 on Steam. At this price, I believe it is not worth buying; it's better to wait for a promotion and buy the game for an average of $9.99.
Is there any additional content available, like DLCs or expansions?
Currently, there is no additional content available for the game, only extra challenge modes.
Where can I buy it?

Conclusion.
Mega Man 11 is a game, much like Cuphead, known for its difficulty at first, and until you master it, you will struggle a bit. For lovers of challenging platform games, like Cuphead, Mega Man 11 is a full plate.
I particularly enjoy challenging games, so the game was a great experience for me, despite getting a bit frustrated in some stages.
For those who don't like challenging games, I don't recommend playing Mega Man 11, unless you play on the minimum difficulty, where you have practically infinite lives.
